We invited you to a creative experiment and explored together what it means when art and science meet. In three workshops, we immersed ourselves in a world of knowledge that could be experienced through the senses and let "Artistic Facts" emerged at TRAFO.

How
bodies
create
tension
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In this workshop we want to get to the bottom of the tension that our bodies can create. We want to play with it and challenge it. With how much and with how little tension can I move my muscles? What energy is created between us? What is our relationship to space?
We work with elements from dance theater, performance and physical theater. Through improvisations, we explore fields of tension between closeness and distance, holding and letting go, movement and stillness. Step by step we will develop solo, duet and group situations, work out choreographic and performative moments together and explore the TRAFO-Magazin. The resulting film will later become part of the exhibition.
The workshop is open to all, previous experience is not necessary.
In principle, the offer is also suitable for people with limited mobility and disabilities, but the event room is not barrier-free accessible.

How
art
creates
knowledge
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Our second workshop is dedicated to the dark side of light: In various experiments, we will explore the power that light can actually unleash – and whether we can use this power in a meaningful way. Together with the artist Rosmarie Weinlich we will try out a lot of things: We use light to set photo-chemical processes in motion. We go into the darkness and create shadow panoramas. We let the sun draw for us. And we ask ourselves: what is the value of all this? What can we learn from all these experiments about our everyday dealings with light? We record all our findings on film. The material will later become a contribution to the joint exhibition.
With Rosmarie Weinlich
She was born in Erfurt and studied fine arts at the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar. Her artistic works always deal with social and natural phenomena such as becoming and passing away. In her mediation projects, aesthetic research and participatory approaches are particularly important to her. She is currently a fellow in the certificate program "Artistic Interventions in Cultural Education".

How
an
exhibition
is made
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Whether in museums, galleries or at trade fairs – art has been exhibited and looked at for ages. But why actually? And what is a good exhibition? Who makes them? And who should look at them?
In the third workshop, we will look at different exhibition formats and take a critical look at how art is actually presented and communicated. In addition, we will get creative ourselves: We will explore the TRAFO as an exhibition venue and get into conversation with the participants of the project "Künstlerische Tatsachen" about their artworks. Finally, we want to work with the art itself and conceive contributions for our exhibition from existing material.
With Paolina Wandruszka

About the project
Our participatory program kT Fellows gives all citizens of Jena the opportunity to enter into a creative dialogue with the participating artists and scientists. Based on the framework theme Tension, the program explores in a low-threshold way what artistic research actually means. The program consists of several one-day workshops that will take place over the summer in the premises of TRAFO-Magazin. The results of the workshops will be presented at the exhibition, which will open in October.
